General Policies
To assure your visit to Castle View is a pleasant one, please review the following policies and procedures.
Children Policy: Typically, patrons of all ages are invited to attend our shows. If a child under 2 will be on your lap for the duration of the show, they do not need their own ticket. If the content of a production is not universally age appropriate, we will do our best to communicate that in the description of the show so that you can choose who should attend.
Cameras & Recording Devices: We obtain production rights and pay licensing fees for all our productions. This ensures that the creators of the show are compensated. In fact, a portion of the proceeds of each ticket will go to those who wrote the script and/or music. However, in order to obtain the right to perform a copyrighted work, we have to agree that we will protect the owner's intellectual property and not share music, scripts, or recordings of our shows. That restriction includes recordings made by our patrons. Therefore, the camera and recording policy for each performance will be communicated in the program and/or audibly prior to the start of each event. Please take seriously this restriction as it allows us to continue requesting production rights of other shows in the future. Plus, we promise you'll enjoy the show more if you don't have a camera in front of you.
Cell Phone Policy: Phones and other electronic devices are distracting to performers and other patrons. Make sure your phone is on silent (or preferably - Off or in Do Not Disturb mode) and that all alarms are off.
Food & Beverage: The Castle View Janitorial Staff works hard to keep our auditorium looking great. Please do your part and pack out any trash that you create while in the auditorium. If there is a spill or a mess, let us know so that we can address it appropriately.
Seating Policy: Barring an unavoidable delay, each show starts promptly at the posted time. At the discretion of the ushers, late arriving patrons may be asked to wait to be seated until a designated time. Doors are typically open 30 minutes before the show. Please arrive early to give you time to use the restroom and find your seat.
All Douglas County School District Schools are drug and tobacco-free zones.
ACCESSIBILITY NOTES:
Our auditorium, restrooms, and foyer are all accessible from ground level. Accessible parking is available on the south side of the building providing access to the front doors. The auditorium entrance is ramped to the accessible seats. Accessible seats are open areas of flat floor and assume a mobility device (Row G). They also have fixed, auditorium-style companion seats or can be accompanied by a folding chair for a companion. We ask that only one companion sit in the accessible area.
General seats located between the entry doors and the stage have a gradual rake with no steps (Rows A-G). The upper section of the auditorium is accessed by steps and a handrail (Rows H-R).
All general seats have bases that fold up and down, have immovable armrests, and are fixed together. The width of the aisles between seats - from the front of one row of unfolded seats to the back of another - is approximately 20 inches. The seat base and back are 18-19 inches wide and 22 inches wide including armrests.
We have numerous locations in the auditorium that can accommodate a folding chair or a bench if you would prefer. Some of these locations require scaling steps while others are adjacent to the accessible area. All are available on a first-requested basis. If you would like one of these options, simply email us at info@cvtix.com
Typically at Castle View, at least one performance will feature ASL interpretation and a specific area of the auditorium will be dedicated to those who would like a sightline that features both the interpreter(s) and the stage. Email us at info@cvtix.com for more information.
Patrons with sensory sensitivities are welcome to join us for any show. We do our best to list any general sensory warnings for each show. If you would like a briefing on specific moments to be aware of that contain unexpected events, email us. Also, if you need seating in a location that allows for a quick exit with minimal disruption, we will attempt to seat you accordingly. All patrons are welcome to exit the auditorium at any time, if necessary. An usher will assist you in finding the exit safely. Re-entry is not guaranteed and the timing of re-entry will be at the discretion of the usher team.
